Overview
The Transtecno ECM series is a compact DC worm gearmotor range from the small ROBIN DC geared motor family. Each unit combines a ferrite permanent magnet DC motor with a CM worm gearbox, creating a right-angle geared drive package for machinery that needs low voltage supply, speed reduction and increased output torque in a compact footprint.
ECM wormgearmotors are available with 12 or 24 Vdc low voltage supply and motor power ratings from 100 to 800 W S2. The worm gearbox section uses die-cast aluminium CM gearbox housings and permanent synthetic oil lubrication for long service life under normal catalogue conditions.
Key Features
The ECM range is designed for low voltage geared drive applications where a standalone DC motor would not provide the required output speed or torque. The CM worm gearbox reduces motor speed through ratios from 5:1 to 100:1 depending on the selected motor and gearbox combination, while the right-angle layout helps keep the drive compact.
The ferrite permanent magnet DC motor provides a practical low voltage drive platform, with 12 Vdc and 24 Vdc options. ECM configurations are also suitable for encoder assembly, which is useful when the driven machine needs speed feedback or position-related control.
Gearbox construction is based on die-cast aluminium housings, and the worm gearbox is filled with permanent synthetic oil. The right model depends on whether the application needs high output speed, high torque, compact packaging, encoder compatibility or a particular shaft and mounting arrangement.
Duty cycle is important. The ECM catalogue rates the motor power range for S2 duty, and the catalogue notes that continuous or highly intermittent duty should be checked with technical support. Output torque should also be confirmed against the rated limits for the selected gearbox and ratio.
