Overview
The MiniTecno BLFT range is a brushless DC helical parallel gearmotor, pairing the FT105 die-cast aluminium gearbox with a low-voltage BL series brushless DC motor. Built under the “small but strong” MiniTecno brand (part of the Transtecno group), the BLFT range uses ground-hardened helical gears on a parallel (offset) shaft arrangement, giving higher efficiency than an equivalent worm gear reduction across most of its ratio range.
The FT105 gearbox is available across a wide ratio span — from 20.6:1 up to 929.4:1 — using either a 3-stage (FT105/3) or 4-stage (FT105/4) gear train, paired with BLS022.240 or BLS043.240 brushless motors. Motordrives Australia can help match the correct ratio, stage count and motor combination to your application’s torque, speed and duty cycle requirements.
Construction And Design
The BLFT gearbox uses a die-cast aluminium housing with ground-hardened helical gears, offering smoother and quieter operation than a comparable worm gear unit, along with higher mechanical efficiency. Permanent synthetic oil lubrication (viscosity grade 320) makes the unit maintenance-free across its operating life, within a rated ambient temperature range of 0°C to +40°C (in the absence of freezing or condensation).
The output shaft is a hollow bore as standard, suited to direct mounting onto a driven shaft, with a special lowered keyway option available. The gearbox is also available as a gearbox-only unit with a standard input flange (AS series) or customised flange and coupling for pairing with a customer-supplied motor.
Motor And Gearbox Combinations
The FT105 gearbox pairs with the following BL series brushless DC motors:
- FT105 + BLS022.240: 0.22 Nm rated torque motor, 24V/36V, ratios from 20.6:1 to 929.4:1
- FT105 + BLS043.240: 0.43 Nm rated torque motor, 24V/36V, ratios from 20.6:1 to 929.4:1
Both motor options are available across the same ratio range, with the 3-stage gear train (FT105/3) covering ratios from 20.6:1 to 315.1:1, and the 4-stage gear train (FT105/4) extending coverage from 368.2:1 up to 929.4:1 for applications needing very high single-unit reduction.

Common Applications
- Compact automation equipment requiring efficient, high-ratio parallel-shaft reduction
- Battery-powered and low-voltage equipment where drivetrain efficiency affects run time
- Continuous duty applications where service factor and gearbox efficiency are both important
- Equipment using a hollow output shaft for direct shaft mounting
- Applications where noise and smoothness of operation are a priority over worm gear alternatives
Selection Considerations
Selecting the right BLFT gearmotor starts with the required output torque, speed and ratio, which determines whether the 3-stage or 4-stage gear train and which motor pairing is appropriate. Duty cycle should be checked against the published service factor (sf) values for each ratio — applications approaching or exceeding sf 1.0 should be confirmed with Motordrives Australia before specifying.
Permitted radial output loads vary with output speed and should be checked against the published radial load table for the FT105 size, particularly where the gearmotor is supporting an overhung load such as a pulley or sprocket mounted directly to the output shaft.
For applications requiring closed-loop speed, torque or position control, the BLFT motor can be paired with the appropriate Transtecno BLD series controller based on the motor’s current and voltage rating.
